Amp up the nutritional value by these creative ways to sneak vegetables into your meals.

Most meals can be made better and healthier by incorporating some vegetables, without compromising on taste. The same way we top up food with herbs and seasonings for flavour, adding veggies to your daily meals can amp up the nutritional value.

There are tons of creative ways of adding more greens to your meals. Here are some of the easiest tips to get you started.

“Sweet potatoes, kale, beets and brussels sprouts can be used to make healthy chips for munching and snacking on.”

Boring Broccoli

The most loathed food of all, Broccoli can be difficult to add to meals. Steamed broccoli isn’t appetizing at all. But roasted or smoked broccoli, topped with tandoori flavours, takes on a yummy taste. It can be enjoyed as either snacks or added to rice or salads.

Filling Soup

Almost every type of vegetable can be added to a soup without overpowering the taste. The more vegetables are in the soup, the more filling and fiber-rich it becomes. It is great for weight loss and extremely light on the stomach.

Vegetable Pasta

No, not adding vegetables to your pasta, but making the actual pasta noodles by vegetables. Zucchini, sweet potatoes and carrots can be used to make pasta noodles, which is way healthier for a calorie-conscious eater. Topped with some yummy cheese and seasoning, these taste incredible.

Wrap It Up

Lettuce leaves, kale, cabbage leaves and spinach are great ways to make wraps that can be topped with the food of your choice. This not only cuts down on the calories, but adds great nutrition value to your meal. Just make sure to wash and pat dry them before-hand for better texture.

Pro Tip: While making scrambled eggs or omelette, add minced vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, spinach or cauliflower. Not only do eggs mask the taste, by mincing the vegetables the texture comes out great.
