Spruce up your living or work space by using White in different ways, without spending a bomb.

Furniture is one of the elements of the house that is not changed or replaced frequently. Oftentimes, certain pieces that behold a special memory are priceless. However, over the years, as our personalities and tastes keep evolving, so does our requirement of how our living space should look like.

A great way to fulfil that without drilling a hole in your pocket is to simply remodel or make a few changes to make everything fall into place. A great way to increase space and brighten up a room is to have traces of white in the room.

“A beautiful living or work space doesn't require a lot of money. Just simple remodeling and a little bit of DIY will do the trick!”

White Walls

Bright walls immediately add life to a space and make it look bigger. It can be done in two ways- the walls can either be painted white or a cheaper option is to have white wallpaper.

Painting over furniture

Bulky furniture items like dressers, dining table and TV units are some of the heavier items in a living space. If painted a lighter color, the space becomes livelier and takes away the apparent weight of the item.

Accent Pieces

For some of the decorative or display items in the house, they can also be painted white instead of the furniture or walls to act as accent pieces. Items like vase, plant holders, incense pot, side table and table/ wall clock are some of the items that in lighter colors can add the much needed touch of brightness.

Lighter Curtains

Black out or heavy curtains add weight to a space and make it appear smaller. White or sheer curtains instantly improve the vibe of the room and bring in the desired light. Taller curtains will add height to a room and make it look more spacious.

By applying any of these tips, you can spruce up your living space as per your desire.

Pro Tip: Make sure to start small and test with a small item or area first to see how you like the outcome, and make necessary adjustments.
